Operation WarriorFit provides free race entries to veterans, service members, and first responders so they can toe the start line without worrying about the entry fee. Nine new races just joined the lineup and are ready for eligible members to claim.
Vermont: three new races in Shelburne
Shelburne, VT is having a big week, with three events newly approved:
- Saucony Charlotte Covered Bridge Half Marathon & 5K/10K - Shelburne, VT - Sept 12, 2026 - road running, normally $30 to $70 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
- Union Bank Field House Fall Half Marathon & 5K/10K - Shelburne, VT - Oct 24, 2026 - road running.
- Shelburne Farms 5K - Shelburne, VT - Sept 27, 2026 - road running.

Alaska Airlines Dawg Dash 5K/10K
Seattle, WA - Oct 18, 2026 - road. Put on by the University of Washington Alumni Association on the UW Seattle campus, this event pairs a 10K and 5K run/walk with a kids' Husky Pups Run and a post-race finish festival, with proceeds supporting UW students. Normally $30 to $70 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
The Great Mud Escape
Warren, RI - Sept 19, 2026 - obstacle course / mud run. Hosted by Thrive Outside, a Rhode Island nonprofit dedicated to reconnecting kids and teens with nature, this mud run is the organization's flagship annual fundraiser. Normally $25 to $35 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
Cleveland Disc Golf Open II
Cleveland, TN - Sept 26, 2026 - disc golf. A PDGA B-tier singles tournament near Chattanooga.
Big Apple Triathlon
New York, NY - Oct 10, 2026. This inaugural NYC hybrid sprint/Olympic triathlon includes a full paratriathlon program covering PTWC1/2, PTS2-4, PTVI, and ATD1 (Wheelchair and Ambulatory) categories. Normally $249 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
FlatRock 50K, 25K, 12K & 5K
Independence, KS - Sept 26, 2026 - trail running, normally $55 to $160 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
9/11 Heroes Run - Charleston/Daniel Island, SC
Charleston, SC - Sept 12, 2026 - running. A 5K on Daniel Island honoring the events of 9/11 while supporting veterans and first responders. Normally $32 to $40 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
