Every race entry we place is donated or discounted by a race partner because they trust that it goes to a veteran, service member, or first responder. Protecting that trust is the foundation of everything we do. Here is exactly how access to Operation WarriorFit works.
There are no automatic approvals. Every application is individually reviewed by our team before anyone gets access. Applicants provide their service details — service type, branch, and background — and cases that need a closer look, such as other-than-honorable discharge status, get an individual review rather than a form-letter denial.
Approval doesn't open a door — it issues a key. Approved applicants receive a single-use invitation code tied to their email address. Nobody can self-register into this community, and codes expire if unused.
Every member attests, as a condition of membership, that their service information is true and accurate — and agrees to provide documentation of their service or first responder status (such as a DD-214, VA identification, or department credentials) whenever we request it. We deliberately keep the initial barrier low: many of the warriors we serve are the exact people that document-upload walls turn away. But the standard behind that low barrier is absolute. Misrepresenting service to Operation WarriorFit results in permanent removal from the program.
Third-party verification is part of our roadmap, not a maybe. The major verification providers currently serve only very large organizations — but the moment one is available to us, that process will be in place immediately, and it will apply to every member, current and new. There will be no grandfathering: every member has already agreed at signup to complete third-party identity and service verification when it launches.
Membership is ongoing accountability, not a one-time gate. We track attendance at every race — entries are donated, and a no-show is an entry another warrior didn't get. Repeated no-shows affect eligibility, and every member agrees to our Code of Conduct as a condition of participation.
If you believe someone is misrepresenting service or misusing the program, tell us. Every report is reviewed.
