Operation WarriorFit provides free race entries to veterans, service members, and first responders, opening the door to endurance events that might otherwise be out of reach. This week three new races joined our lineup, based in Massachusetts and Michigan.
Franklin Park Turkey Trot — Dorchester, MA
The Franklin Park Coalition's Turkey Trot returns for its 14th running on Thursday, November 26, 2026, at the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse. It's a chip-timed 5K road race with a second start wave for casual joggers and walkers. Last year the race topped 2,500 participants and sold out before race day, so a donated entry through OWF is a great way to guarantee a spot. Normally $15 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
Pictured Rocks Road Race 2027 — Munising, MI
Now in its 52nd year, this road race takes runners along Lake Superior at the gateway to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on June 27, 2027. Choose between a half marathon and a 10K, both starting from Bayshore Park; the course mixes paved roads with rustic two-track sections and a couple of steep climbs. Normally $40 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
Guiding Light 5K Run/Walk (Strides for Unity 5K) — Grand Rapids, MI
Guiding Light, a donor-funded nonprofit supporting addiction recovery, hosts its fourth annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, October 10, 2026, on a 3.1-mile loop starting at Millennium Park. Proceeds support the organization's recovery programming — a cause that resonates with many in the veteran and first responder community. Normally $40 to enter, free for eligible members through OWF.
Michigan now has two fresh races on the calendar — browse all of our Michigan races or see the full race list to find what fits your training plan.
If you're a veteran, service member, or first responder and one of these races fits your goals, find out if you qualify at eligibility or learn how the process works at how it works. Request a free entry and we'll take it from there.
